These two profiled wheels have some important differences:
The AERO carbon wheel is built with aluminum hubs. The front wheel is built with 24 elliptic profiled spokes of 2.4 mm. The rear AERO wheel is built with 24 elliptic profiled spokes of 2.8 mm (12 spokes on the cassette side, 12 spokes on the opposite cassette side).
The AERO+ carbon wheel is built with carbon hubs. The front wheel is built with 18 elliptic profiled spokes of 2.4 mm with the R2 system. The rear AERO+ wheel is built with 20 elliptic profiled spokes of 2.8 mm (12 spokes crossed X 3 on the cassette side and 8 spokes on the opposite cassette side). This setting has been proven over the years to provide the best transmission of power from the cyclist to the driving wheel.
The result is about 125g less for a AERO+ wheelset compared to a AERO wheelset. It’s also a very modern and technical look with the 12K carbon hubs that match with the rim. The rim is the same on the AERO and AERO+ wheels.
