It should be noted that, unlike the older Essentia 40 wheels, the Essentia 42 wheels are designed for road use. They are classified as ASTM1 according to current standards, which corresponds to use on tarmac surfaces.

User's manual

For the 8/9/10 speed Shimano and SRAM 10 speed cassettes, a 1.85 mm spacer is required (not supplied by CORIMA).

The 11 speed SRAM cassettes with separated cogs are compatible on this cassette body.

Mandatory conditions of use for road tubeless wheels

Tires compatibility

  • 22TC (tubeless crochet) wheels can be fitted with 25 to 34 mm tires (ISO 5775).
  • In tubeless setup, the use of Tubeless Ready tires is mandatory.
  • With inner tube, any type of tire is allowed (TubeType or Tubeless Ready tire).
  • The maximum inflation pressure is 7.5 bar (109 psi) for a 25 mm tire or 6.7 bar (97 psi) for a 28 mm.

Tips and restrictions

Running tubeless tires requires specific care when it comes to installation and maintenance.

  • When installing the tire, 2 layers of 0.1mm thick rim tape must be installed against the inner rim bed to ensure an airtight seal. (FTUB27-10 from Velox)
  • When inflating, 12g CO2 cartridges limited to 6bar are allowed.
  • CO2 cartridges higher than 12g, high flow pumps and compressors are prohibited.
  • Use only plastic tire levers.
